What is TGC (Transdermal Glucosamine Cream)?
TGC is a topical cream for application onto joints. Through Lynk Biotech’s proprietary Transdermal Delivery Technology, a high concentration of glucosamine sulphate salt (10% w/w) is able to penetrate through the skin directly to affected joints.
What is glucosamine?
Glucosamine is one of the primary building blocks of cartilage and is essential for maintenance of healthy cartilage. It also helps in the stimulation of synovial fluid production, which lubricates and cushions our joints. It is considered one of the safest and most effective supplements for the maintenance of healthy joints. As we grow older, our body loses the capacity to produce sufficient glucosamine, causing thinning of cartilage and eventually degeneration of joints.
What is cartilage?
Cartilage is the shock-absorbing, gel-like material that protects the bones at the joints. Healthy cartilage cushions the impact of bones and enables us to move about painlessly.
What makes TGC different from other joint creams?
TGC contains a higher concentration (up to 10% w/w) of glucosamine sulphate salt than any other topical glucosamine product available in the market.

The higher concentration of glucosamine in TGC is enabled by our unique proprietary Transdermal Delivery Technology. Through this technology, water-soluble glucosamine is encapsulated in active lipovesicular carriers that transport glucosamine through the skin layer and reaches the blood directly.

TGC is proven to deliver glucosamine effectively to blood and synovial fluid of joints.
What makes TGC different from glucosamine taken orally?
When glucosamine is consumed orally, it goes through the gastrointestinal tract and liver first-pass, where it is rapidly metabolized, resulting in only a small proportion of glucosamine reaching the blood. This proportion of glucosamine is then circulated throughout the entire body, resulting in ultimately an even smaller proportion of glucosamine reaching joints where it is needed the most. Also, oral consumption of glucosamine in high dosage may result in gastrointestinal distress.

In contrast, TGC enables glucosamine to be delivered through the skin directly into the specific joint where it is needed. Lynk Biotech has conducted both animal and human studies to demonstrate that TGC provides the body with a high and sustained level of glucosamine in the blood.
Can I apply TGC while consuming glucosamine orally?
Yes, you may continue taking oral glucosamine if you wish to. However, we urge you to try using TGC only, so as to discover its benefits as compared to consuming glucosamine orally.
How many types of TGC are there?
TGC comes in 3 variants: TGC High Strength, TGC High Strength Plus Capsaicin and TGC Active.

TGC High Strength is available in 75g tube and 45g tube; TGC High Strength Plus Capsaicin is only available in 45g tube; TGC Active is only available in 75g tube.
How is TGC High Strength Plus Capsaicin different from TGC High Strength?
TGC High Strength Plus Capsaicin contains an extra ingredient, capsaicin.

Capsaicin, a natural compound extracted from the pepper plant, is known to relieve pain and has been in use for centuries.
How is TGC Active different from TGC High Strength Plus Capsaicin and TGC High Strength?
TGC Active contains 5% (w/w) of glucosamine sulphate salt whereas TGC High Strength and TGC High Strength Plus Capsaicin contains 10% (w/w) of glucosamine sulphate salt.

However, in cases where more intense wear and tear requires more glucosamine than the level that is naturally produced in the body, TGC is an essential supplement.
How do I use TGC?
Spread approximately 1-2 cm onto the joint area, and massage gently into the skin until the cream is absorbed. Do not rub or massage vigorously. Please allow a few minutes for the cream to be absorbed into the skin before covering skin area with your clothes.

For TGC High Strength and TGC High Strength Plus Capsaicin, use twice daily initially for 2-4 weeks for optimum results. When improvements are observed, use once daily for maintenance of healthy joints. For TGC Active, use once daily to keep your joints in tip top condition.

Please wash your hands after each application of TGC High Strength Plus Capsaicin or TGC Active.
How soon can I see the results?
For individuals who apply TGC on weight-bearing joints such as knees or ankle joints, it will take around 1 – 3 months to see effects when used twice daily as recommended.

For individuals who apply TGC on non-weight bearing joints such as the fingers and wrists, it takes around two weeks when used twice daily as recommended.

The time required to see effects depends on factors such as severity of joint damage, duration of suffering and proper usage of the cream. Results may vary from individual to individual.
I have sensitive skin. Can I use TGC?
Glucosamine sulphate salt is extracted from shell of crustaceans. Users who are allergic to shell fish may develop allergic reaction to TGC.

For individuals with sensitive skin, please first apply a small amount to see if rashes appear within 1-2 days.

In some cases, users may experience rashes after prolonged usage at the same spot. If this occurs, we advise you to stop using TGC on the affected area for one month and instead, apply TGC onto other joints. You may also try chilling the cream in the refrigerator and applying TGC onto different skin areas in rotation.

However, if your condition persists, please discontinue use.

No side effects have been reported so far. However, for individuals who are allergic to capsaicin or to the fruit of Capsicum plants (for example, hot peppers) or to any of the ingredients listed, avoid use of the cream.
